Arch duchess Twlight au

Twilight changes the most. Her deep connections to magic makes her more crazy. she never flattens her hair and accepts her natural hair. She doesn’t raise spike in this version he’s the same age as her. they slowly become friends when spike comes from the dragon lands for diplomacy. She’s not weird or racist to other creatures because her being raised in the moon empire caused her to more accepting 
Twilights family were originally celestia’s supporters from the sun empire but their ancestors decided to leave to the moon empire for better opportunities. empress Luna believed that a child shouldn’t suffer the consequences of their parents actions so she allowed them entry. Luna saw Twilights potential so she chose to be her next student. Twilight always known she’s was destined for greatness. She was highly connected to magic and was more powerful than any other unicorn at Lunas gifted School. 
Luna makes Twilight go to ponyville to learn about friendship and help investigate the returning of empress celestia. But twilight already had met some of her main friends back at canterlot. so already know some Of the them and it’s not the first time meeting them. Spike was also come with her to help her out with her work when he isn’t back at home in the dragonlands. The first ep of season 1 of mlp still plays out somewhat the same just some things were changed. 
They find the elements Of harmony and use them to defeat Empress Celestia. She then reconnects with Her older sister and is on her way to redemption. The sun and moon empires slowly merge back into eachother and become the dawn empire. Because it’s a dawn of a new age for equestria. Twilight later ascends becomes the most great powerful unicorn in history. 
The path of Ascension varies from creature to creature .When she ascends she’s not gifted wings, she’s still remains a unicorn , but she does gain Alicorn level power. She only gets a horn somewhat when she gets a power boost from her friends. When she gets that boost a transparent magical wings manifest from her back and disappears when her power is drained. Twlight creates the friendship Council. 
When twilight gets her Princess coronation , celestia is given the title of arch duchess while Luna still keeps her empress title. Celestia during her redemption arc needs updated empress training sense she’s had Disappeared for some centuries. The Rest of the mlp seasons happen and celestia becomes empress again and twilight takes the next arch duchess role. During this time twilight takes luster dawn under her wing and chooses her to be her student. empress Luna finally retires. 
Luster dawn later becomes a princess on the path to be the next empress of equestria. In the end Twilight then retires and becomes council for luster dawn . she’s then decides to become a traveler and Helping equestria with friendships problems. She’s still studies goes to study magic .she’s becomes a living legend more than ever before. 
Note: twilight does not become a Alicorn in this AU just like Lauren Faust intended. any creature is capable of magic and that having a horn merely means that you'd have an easier time learning it. Also ponyville is in moon empire territory . in this world after you ascend you given the title of princess. Princess is the first title you start off with when training to be the next empress. Arch duchess is the next title after princess. Then finally is the title of empress. 
Flurry and cadence are the only ones that didn’t hold the arch duchess title. Twilight , celestia, and luster dawn did Hold the arch duchess title at one point in their training.
